Tonight I was sitting at the computer reading an article and Emma was playing right next to me with her polly pockets. I could hear her talking to herself or her toys about something being obvious but didn't really pay much attention as I was trying to focus on what I was reading. Then she called me and we had a conversation similar to this. I can't remember all the cute details which were much better but you will get the gist from this...
E: "I think Manny likes me"
T: "Well you're a likable person"
E: "NO! He like... like likes me. Not like a kissing like but not just like. He like likes me."
T: "Oh like a girlfriend?"
E: "Yeah i guess so."
T: "How do you know?"
E: "Well he always listens to me and pays attention to me and helps me with things like carrying pinecones."
T: "All the time? Maybe he is just being helpful.Does he do that for all the girls?"
E: "No it is so Obvious. It's just totally OBVIOUS."
This went on for quite a while. It was just so interesting. I am amazed that she has such intuition at such a young age. Even I can't tell when some guys like me. I have gone on many a date thinking it was just a friend thing only to find out they are hitting on me with more than friend intentions. Hahah at least Emma is not cursed with that wrong intuition. Too funny!
She has been saying some pretty interesting and hilarious things lately but if I don't write them down immediately I forget. But it has been definitely funnier than usual. The other night while we were laying in bed she said "Mom I hope you don't die. If you die I will just get your phone and call grandma. I don't want to be alone here so I will tell her to come get me." She said that all matter-of-factly. Silly silly Emma!
