A funny little vent

Today has been a long day. We just got home from vacation (more to come on that after I catch up my blog) and Emma is so tired from a late night and early morning. Plus she has a little cold. Then to top it off she takes no time to get back in the routine of leaving "presents" for me and non-stop destruction of our home. So I am feeling extra impatient and edgy tonight and I am trying to hold it together and Emma gets out of the bath and says she is sooooo starving. I am sure it is because she refused to eat anything I have given her this evening but even so I decide to offer her a couple healthy snacks so I can just get her in bed. After saying no to junky stuff about a million times she finally agreed to have pears. I put some in a little bowl and handed it to her with a fork and told her she needed to hold the fork or the whole bowl would flip on the floor. After trying to tell her this about 5 times as she was yelling at me for who the heck knows what at this point I finally just handed it to her thinking it would be ok. But of course as I thought the whole bowl of sticky pears flips all over my kitchen floor. Ugh! So at this point I knew I needed to walk away cause that was like my breaking point. I told her she needed to go climb up in my bed cause since she was not listening and too busy yelling at me she was not having pears now. So I went in the living room and after I took a breath I got up in bed and asked her if she was ready to say her prayer. She was having some attitude about that but finally started it. The first thing she said was "Please bless that my mommy be's nice to me." "And please bless that I don't starve all night." Ok I just burst into full out laughter I could not hold it in. She got a little mad but I could not help it. Anyway now she is out here having her pears and I just think the whole thing is funny. But the nice thing is in five minutes all will be quiet and maybe just maybe I can clean up a few of her "presents." Phew.

That is a really funny story. I love her prayer. I would have started laughing too.
