Back at the beginning of February we went to Ano Nuevo. It is a long hike in to see hundreds of elephant seals. Emma was so excited but it turned out to be more than she had bargained for. It was a long hike and it was raining and cold. Silly me thought tennis shoes would serve her better for the hike so I didn't put her in rain boots. She was such a trooper and made the whole hike there and back without complaining once! I am so proud of her. Here is a picture showing her smile depite how miserable she was. I did not realize until we got back to the car how wet and cold she really was. Her socks and some of her clothes were drenched and she was shivering. Poor Emma. It was quite an experience. She said she did not want to go back. I don't blame her but I was a bit surprised knowing my little girl that loves that kind of thing. I think next year we will go whale watching instead :)

That sounds very adventurous. Jeff and I can't figure out where this place is. WE will have to go with you guys in the summer or something. It sounds cool...but let's do it when it is dry.
