Spring Break

As As spring break comes to an end I thought I would post a bit about what we did. I Just can't believe it is over already! Can't we just have one more week? Some people say they could never be a stay-at -home mom but I think it is great! I would never get bored. The possibilities are endless. So here is what we did on our luxurious week home. On Monday we got together with some good friends and went to Lake Del Valle in Livermore. It was a beautiful day! In typical Emma style she pointed out all of the beautiful wild flowers on the way. It was absolutely gorgeous! The park was green with nature all around the hills. It was a sunny day and even the it was a bit chilly for the water the kids didn't seem to mind. We rented paddle boats for an hour and I am proud to say I operated one pretty much by myself, although the second half I had some help from Michael which was so sweet of him. Yanira was brave enough to take both girls on the way back on her boat. Apparently they are quite the cheer leading team ("go faster!"). Unfortunately, I did not get pics because I did not want my camera to fall in the lake. It could be years before I got another. I did take one at the end of the day on the second beach though. I could not have asked for a more perfect day to kick off the week. Now we are at Tuesday and I sent Emma to childcare for part of the day. I had good intentions to get stuff done but when I got home I fell asleep because I had not slept well the night before. I never fall asleep during the day for more than a cat nap but for some reason I was out cold. So I took that as my relaxation day. That evening I took Emma and Anthony to see Horton Hears a Who and then we met Grandma, Dee Dee, and Anthony for dinner. Day two gone in a flash! Wednesday we met with our friends again and went to the Tech museum. It was quite interesting and I enjoyed the IMAX theater. Emma enjoyed building the magnetic blocks as pictured and she also liked making her own roller coaster on the computer. By the time we got back to the car the children were staving so we stopped to get some pizza. On to Thursday...Grandma and Dee took the kids to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. I felt a little out of place not having Emma for the whole day because whenever we do fun stuff it is together. I got some stuff done around here but there is so much more to do! It always seems like even when I get a few things done the list grows faster. Emma said she enjoyed feeding the birds on her trip the best. Thank you to them for taking her to have a fun day. Finally, we come to Friday. I spent a lot of the day helping Emma clean her room and rearranging things. It was in definite need of some new organization. Well part of the problem is Emma is a most disorganized child. Regardless, it felt good to have some sense of control if only for a few minutes. My mom came over and took the kids to fly kites and then accompanied me to Costco (I don't have my own card) so that I could get some stuff for lunches for the week coming up. I also had no meat in the freezer because of a prior incident several weeks ago. One morning Emma accidently left the freezer opened and since we were gone all day we came home late night to see a huge mess of melted food etc! I just laughed! But yes I am slowing re-stocking because I had lots of food in there. When we returned from Costco we watched a movie and Emma should be in bed soon. I can't believe that is it! Break over! That is the last one I get until summer too! Not complaining cause I feel very fortunate I get time off with Emma just can't believe how quick it went. I did not get half as much done as I wanted. Overall it was great though! I am sure it will be nice to get back to our semi-routine at school. I can still daydream about all the fun stuff I could be doing if I was at home.
